Some weddings you photograph, and others you feel. Emily and Holden Lester’s wedding on August 16 at Springs Ballroom in Iota, Louisiana was one of those days that settles into your heart and stays there.
From the moment I arrived, I could tell this was more than just a celebration. It was the beginning of a beautiful legacy, wrapped in emotion, gratitude, and the kind of love that’s almost tangible. Her details were in box handed from her grandmother to her mom and now she used it to carry all of her important items for her wedding day. The ceremony took place under a gazebo adorned with soft florals, nestled by a serene lake with a fountain dancing in the background. Delicate lights hung from the old live oak and cypress trees, casting a golden glow over the scene as the evening sun began to fade. It was magic.
But the most unforgettable moment? When Emily walked down the aisle to my favorite, a Taylor Swift Mash up. . I’ve photographed hundreds of entrances, but this one took my breath away. There wasn’t a dry eye to be found from Holden, who watched her with the kind of gaze every bride dreams of, to their parents, whose faces radiated pride, love, and maybe a few bittersweet tears. As I looked through my lens, I knew these were the images their children and grandchildren would cherish one day.
The reception was no less stunning. Set inside the elegant ballroom, the space bloomed with lavender runners and lush florals that echoed the beauty of the garden just outside. The air was filled with laughter, music, and the irresistible scent of some truly delicious food. Guests filled the dance floor with pure joy, and I found myself smiling behind the camera more times than I could count.
But what stood out most wasn’t just the beauty of the venue or the carefully curated details it was the feeling. Emily and Holden were the embodiment of grace and gratitude. Their love for each other, and their love for their family and friends, overflowed in every glance, every hug, every toast.
Being chosen to capture these once in a lifetime moments is something I never take for granted.
Thank you for inviting me into your hearts for a day. It was an honor to document your story, and I hope these images bring you back to every laugh, every tear, and every beat of that unforgettable night.
