Hey y’all! It’s Brittany, your friendly West Monroe Senior Photographer, and I’m so excited to share with you the highlights from a recent senior session I had with a gorgeous young lady from West Ouachita High School.
This session was so special, not just because of how stunning Emily turned out, but also because of how perfectly she represented her passion for volleyball, her sweet personality, and her style. I can’t wait for you to see these photos!
For this shoot, we decided on the picturesque Ida Grey in Ruston, which made the perfect backdrop for this session. The natural light and the serene, charming atmosphere at Ida Grey fit her vibe perfectly. It’s one of my NEW favorite spots to photograph, and I think you’ll see why in the photos! It brings back home vibes from St. Francisville!!
For her first look, this beautiful senior chose a simple but classic combination: a lacy white shirt and blue jeans. It’s a combination that works for any senior portrait session, but she really made it her own. She was effortlessly gorgeous, with a natural look that matched the timelessness of her outfit. We shot a few photos by the tall trees and the rustic elements of the venue, and I love how the photos turned out. The soft sunlight gave her an almost ethereal glow, and the blue jeans added just enough contrast to make her pop.
And let’s talk about her confidence! This girl has such a presence, and it truly came through in every shot.
Next, we went for a totally different vibe with a gorgeous free-flowing blue dress. This dress was fun, light, and perfect for capturing the free-spirited energy she exudes. It swirled with every move she made, creating such a magical effect in the photos. The best part? We got some fantastic shots of her twirling and just enjoying the moment, laughing with the wind tousling her hair. These types of shots are always so beautiful because they’re full of life and movement, and this outfit made it happen!
Her smile and easygoing nature really shone through in this dress, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with how it turned out. We found a lovely open area, and I just let her enjoy the moment while I captured the candid shots. She looks like a vision of grace and strength all at once!
One of the things I love about senior sessions is being able to showcase a little piece of who the senior is and what they love. Since Emily is a volleyball player, we incorporated that into her session, too! It was a subtle Letterman Jacket that highlighted her athleticism, it was important to showcase her dedication to the sport she loves.
West Ouachita High School has so many amazing students, and it was an honor to capture this special time in her life. I hope these photos serve as a beautiful reminder of her senior year, her passion for volleyball, and all the excitement of this new chapter.
If you’re looking for a senior photographer in West Monroe (or beyond!), I’d love to capture your story, too. Let’s chat soon, and we’ll make sure to create something magical for you, just like we did here!
XOXO,
Brit
